Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Hey! The play room at 19th Ave is open!

As I painfully limped down the main corridor of the old building, commonly called south court wondering where I had gone wrong, what atrocities I had committed towards the Gods, and if there were any chances for me to redeem what was left of my life, my tormented and tortured existence, I paused for a moment and heard a wonderful sound... almost like the sounds of angels, as I listened closer I realized it to be the sounds of children playing, I thought that I must be going mad as this place is full of nothing but bitter employees who remember when engineers ran the place, and someone who could build a spreadsheet 9000 columns wide and 10,000 rows deep were engineering aids, not engineers, but as I walked closer I noticed 4 children playing foosball, had I missed the bring you grandkids to work day email!

You guys need to change the look of the important emails so they don't get the automatic trashcan feature applied to them. My grandkids would have loved to work on the puzzles and play foosball, I know Mamma said foosball is of the devil, but Mamma, I just don't care anymore!

But no, it was the brainchild, actually the love child of St@n C and Frunk Hosers playroom to attract young talent to the building. I hope they open the long hallway like on the way to where the stockroom used to be and the other main cross road like out to EMI or maybe the courtyard with Bob Rowes plaque up as a paintball gallery PlayStation... that would be SICK!

I started to work for Honeywell when I was in my early twenties. I'll never forget the day my new manager took me around to meet all the employees from different departments. The resounding comment as we would depart would be "Good Luck you'll need it." Now I am in my late thirties and feel the need to repeat the same comment to new comers. The relaxed carefree attitude they present will soon be replaced with stress and animosity for anyone who ask you to do one more thing on top of the stacked request.

Go play foosball, & make some friends. Then, in a friendly tone, encourage them to run from the Well. Basically, plagiarize and adapt Hotel California…

That is one hilarious rant. Too bad it is all so real. Sounds like the day I had trying to explain the reality that “all is lost” to people that make 3X my Salary.
