Don't Ride it out

I know techs that create tickets from the planners to make themselves to look busy. Don't fool yourself, it's a money game. If the company isn't making revenue and they are not then you don't matter. Pride yourself and move on before they tell you to. Yeah it's all fun and games being on the clock and not earning your keep for now, but it will end and then what?

The tech pay band is largely irrelevant. You don't want to work here. You don't.

Read through the message board. No pay raises, outsourced work groups who struggle with English and don't understand how things work, stealth layoffs, horrible benefits, and a leader who's completely and totally out of touch with his workforce.

Spelling out the hard truth of working at Windstream

If you stay for only one year it might pay slightly better than bagging groceries at $15 plus an hour going rate. But with a 3% pay adjustment every three years equating to 1% annual raise (standard operating procedure per HR directives for years now) you soon lose out. Per a particular Matt Damon movie 'Work the Math'. There is a reason morale at this company is in the toilet and there is not much chance of it getting better soon.

Another consideration is the continuous use of tribal employee resource groups (ERGs) to distract from the fo-e mentioned policy. So if you wish to segregate yourself within the company based on your identified tribal affiliation and do not care about income you are taking home there is that 'benefit' too.

When the CEO has the unbridled need to espouse loudly and openly during company wide meetings, 'Windstream is Not a Prison', there are obviously issues within the company that will NEVER be addressed. This nonproductive and divisive statement (which he even admitted such) illuminates that there is no desire within management to revisit and evaluate these policies that cause harm to the vast majority of Windstream employees.

Lol…I know folks that unplug grounding or fibers or even copper to create tickets and spend hours on that ticket….just to look busy
