The disconnect between employees and managers above SMS is due to the lack of leadership courage which was even removed from the list of treats a manager should possess.
Many SMs where pushed into early retirement because they were showing leadership courage so the rest feel they have no option but to be a YES man in order to keep their jobs.
The disconnect is REAL but no one above SMs want to hear about.

I'd say leadership lacks intelligence but lack of courage works. They're laughable. No leadership, no vision, bobbing head yes folks. Same strategy as Sears. Good luck with that.
I show up to work and sign onthen I pretend to do work until lunch. I do whatever the amount of minimum work is required because im nit paid or treated to do more then i go home. Repeat for 5 days then the weekend restarts the whole process. Managers are too stuppppid to figure it out or do anything.
The Directors are highly paid puppets with no real knowledge or skill. Hoity toits making way too much.
The 3rd party vendors really have been ultra successful so far. Nothing can possibly go wrong.
Exactly why they are considering out sourcing HR to a 3rd party vendor.
If it's true State Farm has some of the most lazy and ignorant employees in the industry, it doesn't say much for State Farm Human Resources and the quality of people they're hiring and/or the training the new hires are receiving.
Idiocracy drones is being accomplished, here and everywhere. I’ve bought alcohol from the same dr-gstore from the same cashier FOR YEARS. I’m not even that young, and yet this woman asks for my ID every single time I go there. She refuses to feel empowered to use common sense, and I know EXACTLY how such a Frankenstein was made.
It is because they have to manage some of the most lazy and ignorant employees in the industry.
It's all about me! Take care of yourself. It's a business decision. All are buzz words for executive complete control without exception nor discussion. TM, SM, and CMs, are political puppets. Don't believe a word that comes out of their mouth nor believe what they say. They are not to be trusted.
