Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Experience with industry change

I neither want nor can endure so much stress anymore. After working in several insurance companies before I came to State Farm and after my experience here, I definitely don’t want to work in this industry anymore. So it would be useful for me to hear the experiences from those who have already changed the industry and also those who intend to do it?

Lots of entry level management positions available right now in the fast food industry.

I left for a government position, the work is still complex but no metrics or quotas so the work pace is great. For those that are in claims, you can get claim jobs outside of insurance companies handling liability claims/property damages claim for municipality or utility companies. At least the pace won't be like a factory assembly line.

I retired! The best job I ever had! Down to one boss...my bride. The rest can keep the change.

I was in claims and could not endure any longer. I became a park ranger. Except for a couple of bear bites things are going well.

This is the best. Very dynamic with not that many expectations. Much better than the office supply company
