Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Stop complaining about getting the vaccine

Ford is afforded the freedom by the Constitution of the United States to conduct its business how it pleases. That means they can require you to be vaccinated! Don't like it? Well I guess you hate freedom then, maybe you should leave the country. And don't worry, I promise you we will be just fine without you should you decide to leave instead of getting your FDA approved shot. Turn off your FOX news and stop living in fear!

All the unvaxxed talent

Bahahaha there’s no such thing. If you’re ignorant enough to be an anti vaxxer then we are better off without you. Maybe we’ll stop having so many recalls once all you troglodytes are gone

Ford can change policies 'midstream'. People who were hired back when you could smoke at your desk are not 'grandfathered' and able to smoke at work. People who were hired before Ford changed allowed domestic partners on health insurance were not forever banned before the policy happened. People who earned $5 per day were not limited to making $5 forever. If you do not like current policies, you are welcome to move on.

First, comparing Vax mandates to those already employed is NOT the same as having requirements for employment to begin with. This is changing the rules midstream. "We have decided that facial hair is not tolerated. Either shave (men) or ladies have your chin whiskers waxed, or you are fired on Jan. 15, 2022!" You all would be screaming.

Second, GM has already stated that they will not mandate the vaccine for their entire workforce. So Ford will see GM take the top unvaxxed talent, and all of the internal Ford knowledge that goes along with it. Yeah, that is Competing To Win!

Third, why is Ford pushing a hybrid work model? Why not just say, as other companies have, that you have to continue working remotely until such time as the jab is no longer an issue? Oh, wait, yeah.....because of politics.

This is going to end badly for the company.

@2fiq+1ebNwomb - You're being sarcastic, but yes they should stop pre-employment dr-g screening. It's an affront to individual liberties and if you aren't aware the reason it was implemented was implicit racism. Same as the of the "War on Druqs" disaster brought to us by Nixon.

If Ford relents on their vaccine requirement, due to the recent rulings against mandates, I wonder what the conversation will look like when they ask people to return to work in March?

Imagine some groggy person who got their vax fall asleep at the assembly line. Wouldn't be surprised if the engine falls apart after the car starts. Oh wait! That happens even when they are awake in the assembly line.

@tdy

It comes down to religious exemptions right now. Some companies are granting nearly all requests and some are granting none. Also a federal judge has issued today a temporary nationwide injunction against the federal contractor vaccine mandate. Companies that terminate workers for non-compliance are at risk of paying hefty sums in lawsuits a couple years down the road.

Counterpoint for non-vaxers -
NYC just mandated, Ford did, Stellantis did etc......its only time before it comes to a city/state near you.
Supposing the state or the entire country is mandated, whats your plan B? Where will you get a job? Think about it.
Mary Barra is on record and said they are not expecting anyone to quit due to mandating. All noise, no substance she says, according to some survey the did I think.

Anti Vaxxers think they are tough stuff when they get on Facebook with all their fellow sheep, but as soon as they encounter someone with logic and half a brain they don’t know what to do. It’s sad really, imagining their little pea size brains trying to come up with a valid argument, and when they can’t they just scream whatever garbage they heard on the tv last night from their lord Tucker

OP . Stop complaining? OK. Please submit to Ford's diet and exercise plan also as most all deaths are heart and fitness related, or disease related to poor fitness. You must also maintain the weight Corporate doctors decide for you. If you are willing to let your company dictate your food choice and beverage choice, amount, and also please pass an annual physical so that you are not an excess medical expense then that is proof you are willing to support the (any) company mandates.

"Ford is afforded the freedom by the Constitution of the United States to conduct its business how it pleases."

That must come as a surprise to the EPA, OSHA, the IRS, SEC, and the dozens of other ‘alphabet agencies’ – none of which are mentioned in the Constitution you pretend to understand.

“…Well I guess you hate freedom …”
No, I like freedom.
Freedom of assembly, freedom of choice, and the freedom to just be left alone.

“…your FDA approved shot”.
Yeah, the one that was “approved” AFTER it was already being administered, without the testing and long-term clinical trials normally required.

Well I hope you have all your shots and get all the upcoming boosters.
If it proves detrimental to your health – or even life threatening

“…don't worry, I promise you we will be just fine without you”.

Turn off CNN, climb out of your basement, take off the face diaper and get some fresh air.

  • . .Stop living in fear!

Keep pushing the mandate and pi----g off your employees and a lot of Ford dirty laundry will surface. Ford can do as it pleases but so can employees outside of work. Please be more considerate of your employees. Their morale does affect your products.

I was an employee and also a customer at one time so I can speak on both counts. I worked with great people at Ford so I am happy to defend their rights to choose. As far as Ford products go, I will never ever buy another Ford again.

Yet especially hazardous at Ford. If these issues are caused by "too many changes done too quickly" - then Ford must be changing things at the speed of light. These issues are not as common at other competitors. Wonder why.

So I guess rationalizing acceptance of quick changes makes it okay to put defective cars out on the road and put human safety at risk. If so, I strongly suggest re-evaluations of safety standards. if plans were laid out and reviewed better, there would not be a need to keep changing at such a rapid pace.

Please be better to your employees. Ford was once a great place to work and quality was job one at one point. What happened?

@mtc,

Miserable employees = hazardous products.
Uh? That is simplistic.. Quality issues are caused by too many changes done to quickly and too much tech added to vehicles to quickly. Also too many variations for each vehicle line. However, this is what the customers want.

Their sales and quality of their products is a reflection of how they treat their employees. Look at all the recalls and the kinds of recalls. These cars should not even be on the road.

OP underestimates the power of employees. Unhappy employees can destroy Ford. I used to work for Ford and a lot of the employees there drive Toyotas. They would rather pay full price for a competitor car than use the employee discount to pay for a Ford. My father-in-law worked for Ford and although he gets lifelong discount, he opted to buy a Hyundai.

Nobody wants to endanger his life for a few bucks in savings. Or failing numerous smog checks a few years into owning the car even though most of the time the car is in the shop.
