@1woq+1eZ8TFle ah yes, it starts with us. Just gotta pick yourself up by bootstraps and work harder and it will trickle down. NOV management and execs just worked harder than us and we gotta take control of our career and be better like they are. C-suite pay increased 900% in the last few decades obviously because CEOs worked 900% harder than shop floor workers. It's on us to work harder if they are cutting benefits and depressing pay.

How does that boot taste?

10% raise would be ideal. Also the upper management buddy system nonsense must come to an end. Promotions should be based purely on the merit.

Your comment is pretty much on point and accurate to a degree.
However, I must say that this company doesn’t give a sheet about loyalty.
Many have rode thru this turmoil with this decrepit company. A company who only takes care of the buddy system on top. Which apparently, you contribute to.
These men, who do the work, get zero respect from those above. If you havent noticed, it is these men who make this company get paid by getting the work done thru the very sweat thru their pores.
How bout you people get out and do your damn job so the rest of us can get you paid. How bout the top bonuses stop being passed out on the top end and give respect to those who smell at the end of that hot summer day.
The problem with everything starts with smartarses like yourself.

Increasing wages fuels inflation, and is typically bad for the employee, business, and the working class as a whole. That being said, market compensation data is available and will determine if the conversation regarding a raise is appropriate for your individual situation. Pay is directly related to market data, experience factors, Attitude/loyalty, economic future, safety records, adherence to all policies and Absolutely as you stated economic factors.

You are a direct influence to the success of your business unit. Do you know if your production contributes to the bottom line profit and growth. Or do you contribute to inefficiency, overhead or COPQ.

Inflation is eating up everyone, business included. Not just NOV but industry as a whole.

You alone are responsible for your own growth. The direct management or your supervisor is the conduit to accomplishing the growth within the company. You must take control of your growth, your career, and salary conversations.

Jobs are posted daily internally, Human Resources persons will be happy to listen, if you feel you are being overlook, set up a meeting with your boss. Be professional, know your worth, know your business, and know your record.

If you are who you say you are, they will agree and you and your supervisor will come out better. If they can’t provide this, ask them how to get there. Align your goals with others. Take real ownership and take it up the next level. You owe it to your family.

All things considered…
No bonuses anymore
No double time anymore
No raises in up to 7 years for some people
Loss of 401k match (yes i know its back now)
Inflation/cost of living

Id say at minimum $5.00 per hour increase is fair.
And NO just giving more hours is NOT a valid replacement for hourly wage!

Go to the store. Go buy food.

Anything less than inflation is a pay cut. They are asking you to continue working for them but you must be willing to afford less than you could last year. Travel less, eat out less, have a smaller house, etc.

Say it again: wages not keeping up with inflation means you as a worker are the one taking a cut.
