Are we talking about Network Assurance, the old Network Operations, Field/Cell Operations folks? Many left in 2018, and then some were laid off last year. Don't know how they could cut any more of those positions unless they are bringing in contactors and they only going to work on upgrades and break/fix.

What do they do? According to Verizon.com careers they are hiring for field operations and field technicians. According to VZ.com, it's "the backbone of our business."
