Thread regarding Riverbed Technology Inc. layoffs

Departures

I’m seeing a bunch of people leaving. I figure it has to do with the bankruptcy, lack of growth, bad management, etc., but is this there another only reason that I don’t know about? Like a RIF or something?

Riverbed is a dead company walking. What product/growth area does anyone think has even a remote potential to bring the company back to growth and relevance?

With so many SMEs in my department gone, it really shows how little clothes, if any, the emperors and their bishops have left. Yet these bishops just keep barking like they have bite. What a sad state.

Why all the snake hate? Snakes are great - quiet, clean, sometimes even affectionate. And they’re very good at what they do, very useful animals. Don’t compare them to Riverbed execs! Maybe opossums or toads or sl--e molds or something.

Berk is out. Hyperion must be doing excellent. Smoot/Agnes/Tworek to get ready?

My area has already lost one and losing a couple more by week’s end. These were all highly capable folks who had a lot of tribal knowledge but leaving due to extremely poor middle and upper management getting in the way. High-level folks need to stay in their lane and let the SMEs do their jobs but there’s an incapacity to do so. This place is washed up and great for just collecting a check.

More people departed recently. Will be fun to see the failure of these geniuses. Check how many people ignored Smoot’s ama bu-----t talks.

Every time I've raised the question of retention I've been told that BA doesn't believe in paying peons to stay. (Note that senior management divvied up forty million in retention.... it's just us low-level jerks who are replaceable cogs, not geniuses like him) So I'm looking at a half dozen team members I can't afford to lose any of if I'm going to have a prayer of continuing to do my own job, but we're not going to do anything to keep them here.

Would you stay on sinking Titanic knowing that the captain(s) left long time ago?

Another SKO probably didn't help. The bankruptcy posts were bad, but all the "we're hiring" posts are so obviously not because we're growing. We're replacing......
