Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Midwest, T extended contracts for craft/cwa

I’m in district 3. Was wondering how you guys over in Midwest and T feel about your recent agreement to extend the contracts ? Do you feel screwed over by the union ? I think you should. Inflation rose to 7 percent this past year. It’s expected to increase another 7 percent this year and the union is claiming a win for keeping the status quo ? Unreal. In a time where employers at other companies are paying record salaries and benefits to try and attract workers , the union doesn’t even try to press the company ? If they pull this cr-p in district 3 , im going to finally leave the union.

most of these private-sector unions have been infiltrated by management-friendly self-promoters. I have no idea under the sun why anyone would want to work in a union job in the private sector. You're just funneling your money into the pockets of union leaders that are selling you out every chance they can.

The only unions that have any power are public-sector unions, mostly teachers in big, blue cities and states. They have power. You people are just getting played and fleeced.

As if anyone needs any more proof of the CWA being a complete fraud by this point. They aren't even trying to hide it any more. The CWA is for all purposes a part of AT&T management. And to add insult to injury, workers are required to pay their hard earned wages to this farce of a union!

Don't worry, the CWA will take good care of you. In fact, you don't even have to vote any more, the CWA will decide for you now!

Just pay your dues and be glad you’re employed…

The membership had to vote on it. I personally would have voted "no" because of no inflation protection, but somebody had to vote yes.

(I don't want to hear anything about the vote count was rigged, unless it's coming from Rudy.😜)

Like I stated in a previous thread: at the very least they should have negotiated a better signing bonus. $500.00 should have been a jumping off point.

What would you do with 500 bucks? I'd rather have a better contract or at least one that didn't take away like AT&T is doing to non bargained employees than some chump change of 500 bucks. Sheesh.

You’d think the U management team would want a unified contract date for all of it’s represented employees in order to increase bargaining leverage.

Talk about losing ground. Why would CWA ever agree to this?

Honestly, it just felt like an extension of the old contract. I’m at Legacy T and was surprised that they didn’t go after our benefits and vacation like they’ve done with management lately.

The union is deep in bed with the company these days. They haven’t even maintained the status quo. Your insurance keeps going up while they give you only a 3 percent cost of living adjustment.
