Thread regarding Anthem Inc. layoffs

Meeting deadlines

Is it just me or do others also have more and more trouble meeting the deadlines? I’m still somehow succeeding at it, but it’s becoming a growing challenge for me. Deadlines are becoming unrealistic because Anthem obviously wants to squeeze people out as much as possible. Or perhaps the goal is to put pressure on people so they leave on their own.

Nope I never had a problem - Anthem is wonderful you just need better time management skills perhaps?

I see nothing has changed at Anthem. I used to hate having to be in back to back meetings all day long to discuss the work, but no time to actually do anything. That, and always having to wait for another team to do something before I could do my work.
Glad I no longer work there- I feel sorry for those of you who are still hanging in there.

It’s not just you. In my area all they want to do is have meetings all day every day. So many back to back meetings you barely have time to use the d*** bathroom. At the end of the day you haven’t gotten anything accomplished or had time to do your actual job because you’ve been in the “meeting to discuss the meeting to discuss the meeting”
The expectation is that you will then work several more hours to get your work done.

We’ve always been rewarded for being overwhelmed. The minute you say “no” or “I don’t have time” is the minute you fall out of favor. But brag about working on weekends and PTO and it’s celebrated. You are in good company - I know more people who can’t keep up than can.
