Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

I would never recommend anyone to apply for one of the 3400 jobs

If I knew that I was the only dissatisfied employee here, I would never dare tell someone not to apply here. However, since I am surrounded by dissatisfied people and I don’t know anyone who is happy here, I take every opportunity to warn that SF is a threat to everyone’s health. It will be very interesting to see if SF will be able to employ all 3400 people and how many quality new people they will get ....

This job can be very stressful, that's a given. So much BS to put up with! Hard to picture now, I know, but fast forward to the future when the coronavirus is but a distant memory and thousands more will find themselves out of the very jobs they were complaining about due to mass employee layoffs. Get your house in order now because a decision will be made for all of us including those who can't make it themselves.

@6apz Yup! That's exactly what they do, then they sit back and wonder why. The definition of stupidity, doing the same thing over and over that doesn't work but like a medical doctor once told me: Titles are not a sign intelligence. Then, they consider themselves intelligent leaders.

Nah theyll get 3400 people. 3400 people who will feel great until they hit the floor and realized they havent been shown how to properly do their job, get angry feedback and are forced out either by feeling they are failing, or by how unpleasant being thrust into a complicated job you were not properly prepared for.

Theyll hire 3400 but theyll have maybe 1500 after six months. Of that 1500 remaining 1000 of them will create more work for others than they complete themselves. The remaining 500 decent workers will slowly leave due to inability to promote, slow career progression, or because they finally got a job in an industry that appealed to them.

Enjoy your Internet of Things - Farm systems lovers unite!

Communications, marketing and systems/ET depts have no idea what they even put in yet call themselves experts.

The operations and leadership has gone down bad paths with their parnerships and consultant cos.

Yet still keep it all in the family and circle.

Auto property was a sweat shop when are office closed in 2019. People who work fire proximity say the work is overwhelming. My friends who moved to Florida to work in SIU are miserable. State Farm claim jobs are terrible 😞

I am going to counter the last post with "If you love SF, why are you lurking/posting on a site like this?". I am sure you can find another site (or make your own) that praises Tipsy and Jake and find happiness browsing the SF intranet rather than actually doing any management/analyst work. You either: 1) do not work at SF at all, 2) retired long ago, 3) are an agent, or 4) have 1 of 2 positions above. Go drink more kool-aid. Sometimes we commiserate to not feel alone. Not all of us can quit. For reasons other than stupidity and laziness, many of us just cannot leave right now. If these posts offend you, then you are more than welcome to never come back to this site.

I love these posts about how horrible and bad the company is but I am still an employee? Definition of insanity? Or people just exaggerating because they can…..

My training class started in September of 2019 with 28 people. There are 9 of us left. So they can hire 3400 but like 70% of them are gonna leave in two years.

They will be lucky to get 3400 applicants. If they get them 60% will not stay. The environment is awful. The treatment is awful. The expectations are unreasonable and management DOES NOT CARE!
It has turned into a sweat shop.
