Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

I applied and going to an interview. Leaving Chase

So, I hate working at Chase. Worst work environment ever! I got mentally sick and even was short-term leave due to mental exhaustion. I applied to Citibank and went to my first interview. Does anyone here have the same path? Did you regret it?

Does Citi micromanage as well? Is there any harassment like "where were you?" When you not on your desk?

Flexible? WFH allowed? Internal transfers are easy to do? Relocation to another state? Or are they very strict in everything possible?

What about PTO? And Insurance?

I referred two friends to Citi and am embarrassed that I did so. The salary offered was laughable at best. It was 2/3 of what they were already making. Citi had the nerve to still ask “so are you ready to come aboard”? Answer: No, I’m making 30% more where I am vs. what you offered. You didn’t even match the pay. Needless to say, I’ll never refer anyone else ever again. I was so embarrassed. So as its already been mentioned, make sure your hire on salary is as high as you can get it. Don’t expect a generous bonus to make the difference.

I have had a great experience at Citi. I have never been micromanaged but I have seen production be managed and in those instances it was warranted. Your experience at Citi will be what you make it to be just like with any other employer. Good Luck!

Get your money upfront. Know that raises aren’t that great compared to other banks from what I’ve read. Try to get as big a salary as you can and realize that your bonuses and raises going forward will be somewhat lackluster.

Hello Friend. Yes Citi can be the same. It all depends what area you are in. Ive been micromanaged by my boss and my co-workers here at Citi. All companies are the same. Leave Chase come to Citi and start fresh. Just know not everyone is a jerk here at Citi.

A lot depend on what area in Citi and your manager.

I’ve never been asked “where were you”? Except out of curiosity, not micro managing. As for wfh, def not going to be 100% remote going forward. But I doubt ever 5/day in the office either.

PTO and insurance are decent. Work/life balance is decent too ( but again, may vary by area )
