Funniest post I have ever seen on this site. I feel so darn stupid, I fell for it and was like ohhh, ahhh they got “Laid Off”. Good, very Good.

Decided to jump from the ship after 13 years late last year, am truly blessed to have got an amazing opportunity but feel for My close colleagues (who I still keep in touch with)
I don't miss a single day working for an organisation I played diplomat for!
OP meant he/she got laid. Then was off that day.

Sorry to hear this. If u work at Xerox expect to be laid off as it is the only way they make profit on the bottom line. The job Market is still hot so you will bounce back.

I didn't think they did that on Fridays anymore. You will find something even better and try not to take it personally. I remember my manager crying when higher-ups insisted that we had to cut 3 people back when the severance packages were still good. The first two cuts were easy because they were just under-performers that did the bare minimum and disappeared all the time. It was that 3rd person that was awful. In the end it came down to two people and the manager picked the one that would be most likely to find another job and that is the only reason they were chosen. So consider that they had to pick someone and they probably thought you were the person most likely to be able to succeed. You will be okay. This might be the only time in your life you get to take a hiatus from work until you retire.
Sorry about that but it had to be expected. A least we are currently in the best job market of recent history...
