Thread regarding IBM layoffs

1 year since I left IBM

I left IBM a year ago when the sales org had a massive shakeup. Trust me, it's better out there. It's not normal to have non-stop reorgs and account changes. It's not normal for your manager to change every year. It's not normal to sell only renewals/ELAs because no new customer wants your products. It's normal for the company to have layoffs where performance is not factored in - in every other company, the great sellers are untouched.

There's a lot of great companies out there that want experienced sellers. The hiring market has never been better. My only regret is that I didn't leave earlier.

Left in Dec 21, work now for non IT company, earn 50% more, have comparatively 10% stress and decent management for change.

Came here for a smile

In CIO, leaving to FAANG, over doubling my pay. With all the remote work opportunities now, it is easy to get a better paying job. Believe me.

Same here. I left IBM last year after 15 years at IBM and 7 years as a D. Terrible way to treat employees. I got good bonuses every year despite employees making pennies on their GDP. Terrible feeling. No other company does such things and constant RAs every year relentlessly.

I left at the end of 2020…RETIRED!!! The best part, I got a 5.9% social security raise. I didn’t receive any raises thru IBM for several years and lost my bonus program so the executives could get their bonuses. FU-K IBM!!!

I think you forgot to mention 1 thing:

You probably 2x or 3x your salary by leaving
