Thread regarding Norfolk Southern Corp. layoffs

Get out as soon as you can

NF was by far the worst experience of my 20-years-long working career. When they laid me off, they did me a huge favor for which I'm grateful to this day. I have since found a job with roughly the same pay but much better benefits and environment. I wouldn't go back if they offered me three times what I make now.

I’m right behind you homie. I hope every craft employee quits and shuts this garbage company down. Everyone above trainmaster/general foreman/track supervisor deserves to lose everything and starve.

20 years in with seniority and you walked ? Gotta be fake news. After 20, the feelings callouses are thick man. And let me tell you, the last 10 FLY by. Every year goes quicker, and you will be glad you stuck it out. RR retirement @ 60 with medical benefits is sweet.

As bad as NS is now, and its bad I'm sticking it out as long as I can......almost 18 yrs in and started a little late.....4 weeks vacation built. Enough seniority to stay off 3rd. I don't mind the extra work load the shift goes by quick. If they would just treat us like human beings and not a piece of machinery.
