Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

Layoff before bonus

Just checking if the information is correct that the person will still get the bonus, even if he got laid off a little before he was supposed to get the bonus? It would be really horrible to get laid off a few days before the bonus and therefore lose the bonus as well.

It used to be about what you get in a paycheck (sometimes slightly more) until last year. Lots of people got screwed on raises and annual bonuses last year. Guess it was Centene's way of saying be thankful you weren't one of the 3k people who lost their jobs while the old man gave himself millions of dollars in bonus.

It varies!! No one in my department got the same amount. Our department was allocated money, and it was distributed based on performance and recommendations from managers!

Yearly bonuses are based on the prior year. So when you get a bonus in March 2022, it will be based on your performance and the company's performance in 2021. All of us laid off in early 2021 got our bonus in March as we worked a full year and qualified for 2020.

Most of these people are speculating and responding with emotion not actual knowledge! The last post is most factual. I had a direct report who was laid off, among many others, in February 2020. She received her bonus. I was laid off January 2021. I received my bonus.

if you are laid off after Dec 31, you will see your full annual bonus. It's what Centene has done the past few years. They do that so they won't be sued. The people who aren't laid off are the ones who usually do NOT see a full bonus because it is pro-rated by company goals and annual reviews (and favoritism)

Layoffs will be strategically planned by Centene to happen right before bonuses are given out. Mark my word!

I’d be surprised if you received a bonus after they gave you a pink slip, it’s about keeping money not giving it away.. The greedy ba----dsssssss don’t care if you are evicted or starving as long as their numbers look good, take from the rich , serve the poor , pocket the billions and fuckkkkkk the middle class!
