No one cares about the CLO but everyone should care about diversity or the lack thereof.
Honestly, no one outside of legal cares who is the CLO.

Someone predicted this a while ago when GVR was looking for CLO:
Odds are very high GVR will hire an external head of legal who is a woman. GVR will claim victory - I hired a woman! Love all around! And please don't question the competency of my new hire. She's way better than the current team.
And then the best legal talent will leave because they soon realize the leader isn't all that great except GVR loves her. Or the best talent will get pushed out because they question poor decisions. We’ve seen this story play out in the merchant organization already.
Power of one and belonging matter only if GVR and Eric hired you. If not…you might as well leave.
