Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

PTG Bonus Anyone?

So our store only got the 25 cent bonus last quarter because of our survey scores and now we might not getting anything for the holiday season because the company won't pay enough for people to work at our store. We have over 100 open jobs and spend most of our time doing online orders and lines are so long that customers walk out on busy days. How is it the fault of hourly employees who are ki----g themselves this year that there aren't enough people to take care of the customers?

When I started they talked like I would be getting an extra 50 cents an hour paid in a bonus every three months, it looks like just a scam to make you think you are going to get more money than you really are. They are asking me to work all the time, overtime and as many hours a day as I want...but why would I when my other job pays almost $3 more an hour.

Our store manager left and everyone is quitting and our assistant director job has been unfilled for two months. Nobody wants to work here and the company won't pay those of us who do enough to make a difference.

The email said in May, why give us a raise now when you can promise a raise in six months and hope people will stay without having to pay them for half a year and save on having to give raises, just take them to $15 an hour and still not be competitive.

15 a hr starting in may means they must clean house before that time start which my guess is going to be feb of 2022. FT will mostly be gone ,ops/vs gone , more sales managers gone, AP gone

Then Macys gets what it deserves. I feel for those of you that work there but if corporate can't make basic improvements then the stores will fail.

I heard that’s the reason Macy’s is raising the wage to $15 an hour for everyone starting next year. Some states already have a minimum wage of $15 but many don’t. So Macy’s will be raising it to $15 for everyone next year. I don’t know if it starts in January or later.
