Qualcomm is a great place to work if one is looking to work with leading edge technology! Q always hires the best and brightest and has allowed me to have my selections of jobs - if I ever wanted to leave! But when one is working for the best, why even think about leaving!!

Apple failed miserably for many years at creating a modem which works well. They've tried poaching but the Q still holds its value and position. I do agree that the pay should be higher and that will come back and bite them in the a-s. The compensation team is clueless and have done nothing to recruit top tier candidates. That entire department needs a revamp. If they don't quickly catch up in the compensation side of things, they will definitely lose in the end. Without talent, the company is just a shell of its former self.
I don’t think it’s hate just facts. The fact that you think Qualcomm is the leader in 5G speaks volumes of your ignorance. Qualcomm license the design of its chips - do you know from whom? Also, you seem to be 11 years behind reality. Qualcomm owned 3G in America but have seem royalties per chip shrink as next generation networks were built out. The shock will be more when you leave Qualcomm wether on good or bad terms. That’s when one realizes their skill set isn’t as marketable as one thought. The longer ones stays the less marketable ones skill set becomes. If you do a 2 year stint which is a little more than average- there is still hope but you are on cloud nine right now and won’t understand reality until you get more experience…. But the leaders in 5G technology was really funny 😄. Thanks for making me lol 😂
Hello Qualcomm folks, I recently joined, I have heard amazing things about Qualcomm and its cutting-edge technology. It's the world leader in 5G and mobile chipsets. Entire SD bends over when I say I work for Q, why so much hate here, were these folks let go and they are holding a grudge? xD
What is your advice for a new joinee except "leave quickly", "buttering management" etc, because not gonna do that

Qualcomm is funny - Qualcomm is a very liberal company. One may even state Qualcomm is WOKE. And it’s true that most employees at Qualcomm hate Trump but wouldn’t even have a job of it wasn’t for Trump. Crazy how ungrateful Qualcomm employees are! Qualcomm’s business model is outdated and only a matter of time before it will no longer be in place. China actually made its engineers build a network that does not use CDMA Bc China felt the business model was crazy… if communist think the business model is unfair - I have to say that Qualcomm lawyers are next level for keeping that business model in place in the United States
I don’t see the extremes as the previous post would indicate. Facts can’t be extreme… maybe the person is WOKE. From a tech standpoint Qualcomm isn’t even viewed as a technology company anymore - anyone can easily copy Qualcomm’s products and the only think keeping Qualcomm in business is patents that are over 15 years old. Also, lawyers that kept led an a outdated business model in place and Trump for blocking the merger. Qualcomm employees are so dump most hate Trump but wouldn’t even have a job if it wasn’t for Trump! Again facts are not extreme only to WOKE people
From one extreme to another. QCOM s a good company to work for as there are many other companies. compensation wise is not the greatest, it is more mid level. AAPL pays better, NVDA pays better BRCM pays better. Promotion wise the company is a nightmare. Criteria are not very clear and above SS it is very difficult to get promoted if you are not connected somehow and it is getting worse and worse. Especially if you are in low growth organization like CNN :-).
Well technically Q lawyers are the only reason Qualcomm exists today - this is just a statement of fact. Qualcomm does create a commodity product and doesn’t even manufacture the product. Can you know kindly name a product Qualcomm has produced in the last 15 years?

Agreed! It is the very best! Some people are just salty they were let go, they just can't make peace with it. Bet they will comment one of the following:
"its a commodity company", "Never did anything new in past 15 years", "QC lawyers are the only reason it is in business", "QC engineers are bad" etc etc.
