As frustrated as I was with my current job I applied at a few oil companies and It looks like the search has paid off. It is a similar position as my current one and the pay is just slightly better.
From what I hear the work conditions and the atmosphere are better than at EM, which is good enough for me given that I'm tired of all the toxicity and nepotism that I have faced during the years.
In any case I figure a change is going to be good for me after many years at EM. Is there anyone else who made such a move lately and what are the experiences?

The problem with Shell is you will have even less job security than you have here. At the end of each assignment, you have to apply for posted positions and if no team picks you up, you’re out.
Depends where you land in Shell. Shell Singapore is in constant turmoil, changes, mid level management know nothing on plans, making loses, poor leadership, all taking care of their own ricebowl, and short term thinking.
@1vcz+1e3FgTqm I agree with you. However they exist in different degrees at different companies and I doubt it can get much worse then EM. Look at it this way: Even if it's the same sh-t at Shell at least the OP will be "fu---d" by a different managerial structure, so that it also a change. In any case, the OP is not going to a worse place, that's for sure
