Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

Resignation flood

Citrix leadership do not have to worry about how, when and whom to layoff in the next wave. Many in my group have resigned since last 2 weeks, and the news of someone leaving is just getting more frequent.

I also know that everyone in my team is preparing for interviews. Even my manager seems to be giving interviews as he is abruptly taking leaves.

This is what happens after every sh---y layoff. The best leave and what remains are those no one wants.

Bankrupt? Seriously?? Come on, I understand you are pi---d at Citrix for one thing or another but bankrupt? That is laughable.
A terrible place to work? Maybe. Incompetent managers and leadership? Sure. Horrible decisions and product direction over the last 18 months? Absolutely. But bankrupt? That's just silliness.

Actually if you look at the cash debt, I see that we are in some serious trouble and bankruptcy is not really far fetched. On top of it, growth is slowing in all legacy products, and all new bets have only led to burning more money.
If that was n't enough, rampant and reckless hiring last year (mostly ego game among VPs to showoff who is a bigger dcik) led to unnecessary bloat in many areas - Workspace, legacy products, UPE.

I sense that we have not paid the price of these missteps yet, and there are more pains in store.

@1htr+1e0OOln9 most top performers have resigned earlier this year. Once they saw the quotas they knew there was no shot, not to mention rolling out our account list 3/4 of the way thru Q1. There’s only a handful of people sticking around in sales because they are just collecting money for doing nothing or waiting for a Severance with the next layoff.

patients and existing technology and customer acquisition would benefit MSFT if acquired.

there is also networking side with netscalers, that microsoft really lacks in its product stack.

the best option would be an acquisition from MSFT.

Why should MSFT buy CTXS?

8-10 years ago, it probably made some sense (when Azure or Windows 365 did not exist), now I don’t see any reason MSFT will have in buying CTXS.

citrix may not go bankrupt but its not a pioneer in the technology area anymore.

its equivalent to Novell, yes it still exists has a lot less customers, developers and release cycle with few features or innovations. it simply collects money from enterprise customers who have been slow to transition off.

citrix wont disappear completely, but its never going to be the market leader it once was, it missed the boat on the cloud poor execution.

the best option would be an acquisition from MSFT.

Correct. All will be known based on the February performance reviews and bonus/rsu’s. If they are low and mgmt does nothing to maintain top talent, then top talent finds a new challenge elsewhere and Citrix is left with mid performers.

This is a sure sign of how good (or not) mgmt Is. but after what DonnaK said at the gem, expect nothing in terms of retention goodies. So much better options out there to make money in the tech world.

I think a number of people are waiting to see what happens in February when performance reviews and salary, bonus, and RSU adjustments are made. That is when we will see if Citrix management understand what a precarious position they are in regarding keeping top performers.

Wasn’t planning on leaving after being here a year. Now with the layoffs, the disaster of a GEM and the mgmt being clueless, my resume is now active. Many around me feel the same way.

You’d think middle mgmt would assess the workforce and incentivize the top performers to stay with rsu’s and such. But bc they grew up within Citrix, they have no clue this is even necessary. Citrix mgmt don’t have the role models around them to make sound business decisions. They just have lackeys with minimal biz experience to learn from.

Everyone should leave Citrix. The pay, culture and innovation is so much better at other companies. You don’t want to work for a company where leaderships buys a company like Wrike then lots of layoffs follow. Citrix leadership is the worst in the business. RUN!!

It's happening in many teams. We didn't have any laid off, but almost half our team has quit and the rest of us are just getting abusively crushed in support. And just about everyone on the team admits to looking and filling out applications.

Shitrix it seriously taking a dump!
