Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

I wish I could scale back

Am I the only person here whose work ethic won't allow him to intentionally do a job half-assed? Yes, I know the company has been treating us like cr-p but that doesn't mean I have to lower my own standards. I'm proud of my work. I won't put myself in a position where I'm considered a bad employee, somebody without a work ethic even in a company like this. I'll rather give it my all until I can move on. But that's just me, apparently.

I have always felt that way until recently but now a clock in at 8 clock out at 4:30 and when I get done is what I get done. I'm tired of stressing about this company that doesn't give a damn about me

Came over from Stare Farm 5 years ago where I was working 55-60 hours a week in claims and I swore I’d never do it again. Fast forward to last year during the layoffs and I’m doing the same thing again because of horrible business decisions by Allstate upper management. Why should we work overtime and have anxiety attacks over their mistakes . Sorry but not sorry ..the last 2 months I’ve been working 40 hour weeks with an hour lunch and yes, my production numbers have slipped but so has my whole teams numbers too. Can’t work 6-7 days a week anymore until 9pm. I used to blame myself for the volume .

I used to feel that way and while I have great work ethic but I loathe this company and its leadership so much that they deserve nothing more than minimum from me. Work from home is not much of an option anymore in my area as most jobs in this area are back in the office. Plus after all this company has done I have zero trust in corporate America so taking a work from home gig based in let's say Dallas when I am states away I won't do. I'll milk it this way while sticking it to Big Bue doing the minimum and taking their money. I get paid well for my role. I have great work ethic for a company that deserves it and I can switch it right back on when a job that deserves it comes along.

You are not alone on this one. I recently accepted a position with a different company because a former colleague recommended me. The job literally fell out of the sky for me. Their starting salary was the icing on the cake. But I’ll admit, this was a tough week for me. I cried here and there because I was sad to leave so many long-time connections and friends. Even then, I returned every call and completed every task. Why? Because I genuinely care about my customers, my work standards and those left behind. Don’t give in to the .5 a$$ club, you never know who’s admiring your work ethic. Best of luck to you.
