Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

30 years

I just learned of this board. I cannot believe what has become of my careeer. I've dedicated my life relocating, accepting demotion, accepting pay freeze while working 70 or more hours week and even working 5 days a week at a rented apartment, until I could relocate to our "new office."

Its not just Allstate, but Allstate is a product of a rush to the bottom of the insurance market in the US.

Progressive + Allstate. PROSTATE is a fantastic new name for the company. The ahole of insurance.

Wow three posts with negative numbers. Rly? Dont got away mad, go away Glen. Or Human Resources. Or Rep Management. Your responses are a waste of bandwith. Really you posted three?

You are the joke you defend a company where the the true numbers reflect the reality. You sell your posts for money aka pr-------e or you are just an id--t. Or both.

The fact you've reached 30 years guarantees you've survived a few shake-outs already. In my case, I've endured several office closures, a layoff and a forced relocation. (forced or quit..) Allstate does everything it can to get rid of experienced and tenured employees in favor of outsourcing or replacing you with someone with 50% your pay rate. Congrats for being a survivor - I guess.

The dedicated 30 year employee has not been the problem, but instead a CEO and ineffective Board of Directors that failed to strategically invest excess profits into the right technology and distribution channels. Nice exclusive agency work, but lame IA and Direct for too many years put Company behind. The fish rots from the head, and that would be the head of our purpose-driven company, Chairman/CEO Tom Wilson. We should appreciate the contributions of those that held this place together for so long while senior leaders were paid well to lose market share.

Welcome to corporate America . The pandemic has exposed the true bloodthirsty greed and evil intentions of these corporations. They’d lay off thousands to save a dollar . Look at the outsourcing to India and layoffs last year the day after Thanksgiving . Cold and calculated moves illustrate the fact they don’t care about us. I don’t blame American workers for quitting in droves over the last year and demanding better wages and work environments.

Staying loyal to a company is the d-mbest thing you can do. Good job, they played you like a fiddle.

Sorry the gravy train dried up on your outdated ideas. Only reason you stayed here for 30years is because you have no skills to go elsewhere.

This company is full of 30 year employees who want to talk about the good old days and this is why this company is decades behind.
