Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Make it work for you!

If you people knew how hard it can be to terminate someone you would hit the brakes on how hard you are working and tell your respective manager you will work only w/in your hours and what does not get done will simply have to wait. It isn’t your problem. If you aren’t working overtime you will never be promoted so don’t waste your time! Much less stressful that way!

I have been ki----g myself working 10-12 hour days and hating whats become of company ruined by greedy aholes, and trying to find solution (besides GTFO thats a work in process no worries) but your reframing of the proper attitude toward the TOTAL bu-----t of transformative misgrowth came at a perfect time.

This is absolutely true. I was asked to terminate someone at Allstate once and, after taking an entire week off to go thru every one of their files, find every mistake, and produce gobs of paperwork, we weren't able to terminate the employee due to being with the company over 10 years...and the employee was also in a "protected class". Allstate gets around this by doing frequent RIFs (reductions in force) and relocating office locations. Now that most of us work virtually at home, terminations will be easier I think.
