It’s my fault that I didn’t go from here when I had a better chance of finding a new opportunity. Now it’s a lot harder because there aren’t a lot of companies that are thrilled with Xerox’s longtime employees. That is my opinion. The general feeling is misery and disappointment.
In fact I think it has never been more miserable to work for Xerox than it is now?

Echoing that its “just in your head.”
I’m sure it varies a little by role but I just landed a massive upgrade leaving Xerox. I applied to several companies, not a single one gave any care about where I was coming from - at least in terms of caring about the success of the company I was in. They wanted to know my skills and what I excelled at. Maybe some would argue “Xerox taught me nothing!” But that’s immediately self defeating and a great path to being stuck at Mother X because you’ve given yourself an inferiority complex. Just generalize and “sell” your skills. No company cares about specifics. They know you don’t know their systems and processes - how could you?
If you get into an interview and a hiring manager starts ragging on your previous company and all that - I wouldn’t want the job anyway. That’s a massive red flag for drama and BS from that boss.
I feel like Xerox suffers heavily from people who can’t let go - even people who have left. Never love a company: a company won’t love you back.
Skills are important, not so much where you've worked.
That's just in your head. No one knows, no one's cares. Only one option: you got to try try try, succeed at last!
Job market is hot. Xerox name is iconic so it can work in your favor - just get off your stump and apply. Apply apply apply
