Makes sense to me that if you were going to lay someone off it would be those who were ranked low.
I know a few folks that had that experience.
2 were coasting towards a planned retirement. Both doing alright now - lump summed and living for a change.
Another - younger - found new employ in the mid-Atlantic. All relocation covered and received a signing bonus. Happy with that - young family in better place.
Everyone I know that went through the PiP only to be laid off later are very bitter towards the company.
Happy! Because I finally got to see EM through and through.
