Last year got an offer from SLB.
Background check, dr-g test all passed.
Instructed by SLB HR, I gave my previous employer a 2-week notice.
Right before the start date, SLB notified me they rescinded the offer. I was left unemployed.

That’s why I have 2 full time jobs. Being 100% remote helps out a lot. I would overlap employers for a trial period at least. Don’t quit previos company until you have the next one 100% secure. Stick it to da man
The people on this board have absolutely zero legal training, and know less than zero about the laws in your state/country. The fact that you seek legal advice here only demonstrates your ow lack of intelligence.
Yes
If I were you I’d eat a cheeseburger. Enjoy!
That must have coincided with the massive layoff they had to do to avoid bankruptcy.
You need to sue! They will settle out of court and will have to give you money. This is not acceptable for them to do such a sh---y thing. But then again nothing is surprising with SLB. They don’t care about employees
There is no such thing as conditioning employees to think a company is unstoppable by intimidating them into thinking anything they do to you is legal when it’s not…. You can sue for the right reasons and justifiable law breaking ones. Nobody has anyone by the bawlz like that. It’s the current employees that make it that way by using slander and backstabbing people especially in hard times. Know your facts. Besides, if you do happen to win and it’s substantial enough, perhaps one wouldn’t care about what line of work they are in from that point on.
Even if you could win, you should not sue. How much could you possibly get?
Not enough to forever be known as a trouble-maker when applying for jobs.
You are in the same situation as many SLB employees and x-employees. SLB does things that could result in damages if someone sued, but suing would take too long, be too much trouble, and cause too much damage to reputation.
Good luck.
SLB has lawyers to bury you. Cost is irrelivant when they want it to be.
They will spend $1000.00 to ship a $14.00 filter from a different base.
Depends if you are located in an at-will state. (C/P): “When an employer makes an offer of at-will employment, the employer is free to rescind that job offer, for any reason or no reason at all, at any time, including the period after the potential employee has accepted the offer but before he or she begins work, without legal consequence.”
