Thread regarding Belk layoffs

Frenzied, frantic atmosphere...always a “new” urgent emergency. It never ends.

Our store always has a frantic atmosphere. they is always some type of urgent emergency. Managers are run ragged having to be at the store at 6 or 7am. Lines are consistently long and they never have enough help. Now employees are asked to work six day workweeks. I’ve never seen anything like this in a stable, normal functioning retail store before.....have any of you??

store managers are instructed to work employees to the max. They keep pushing and pushing until you can’t do anymore. Just tell them no! And tell them you want to do the job you were hired to do, not someone else’s job. Our store had cosmetics doing hard physical labor until they all quit! That’s why all the employees are leaving.

No associates should be required to work six days. I would contact your HRBP who will then forward the issue to Leslie Riggs.

No. Belk ten years ago was chill, laid back, good people and good times. now it’s controlled chaos by Sycamore sc-m.

Typical of stores in financial distress. And belk is at the top of the heap when it comes to financial troubles. Please get the heck out of there, you will not regret it.
