I am questioning the Ethics reporting process. I made a report and getting follow up is becoming extremely difficult. What about the Ethics Survey? Does Anthem EVER take action? Many associates have experienced racism and a manager very clearly made racist remarks in regards to the associates of color that they are excellent in their work but since they use slang, she is not promoting them. Sad part is, if she spoke to me that way imagine what those manager meetings are like…who is looking out for the associate? You are on your own.

Anthem DOES NOT foster inclusion and diversity. You may think that because you believe what they are saying. I have experienced this more times than it should ever happen. In fact my experience is employees work super hard to hit goals and show values of the company but the management from 1st level above does not.
- You either work in HR OR Management giving this answer.
- You are not aware of what is taking place.
I promise you, these thing are happening, have been reported by MULTIPLE employees, and yet….Nothing.
Anthem may be a lot of things, but one thing that they have always done right is to foster and celebrate diversity. I’m quite sure they would take such a complaint seriously if it is well founded and take corrective action accordingly.
Thank you all for your responses. It is VERY disheartening to know this kind of employer is able to treat those that that work to keep the company going. As far as slang goes, that was summarizing in a nutshell what was said. My question is why would would they be targeted when they have multi cultural associates with different levels of language and communication. Not once I have heard what I heard in my entire career.
Hi, mostly when an ethics claim is made, the recipient of the compliant knows exactly who made the claim. Perhaps they need to , to prove the case. So the manager may get their hand slapped, may make them go to a class or do nothing. Now for the slang, did the manager say that directly to the employee? If so just maybe the manager was trying to help the employees with the slang.maybe trying to suggest to improve on it. Please don't take offense. Was the slang becoming an issue? Good luck to the ones who made the claim.
I am confident that their are illegal hiring practices happening in IT when it comes to hiring mostly Indians. If investigated I am sure something will come up. Basically there are some in upper management who have surrounded themselves with some of the same caste and background. It is very obvious and this should not be allowed.
Most companies have the Ethics Line for optics. They don't want complaints filed and the one who files complaints is regarded as a problem who will be targeted.
If there is an ERG or affinity group your employees could try strengthening it and being very public with its existence and educational output. The visibility can help. Get on the Corp intranet if you can.
