Thread regarding Optum layoffs

The Great Resignation

Any thoughts on the phenomenon about people quitting their jobs or moreover, getting laid off and not going back to work?

We as employees are tired of being mistreated, having less and less each year as inflation rises. I remember when everyone got a cost of living raise period!

Now we get 0 raise and then no bonus and then our stock match is cut and then 401k match cut and then benefits cost more every single year!

It’s not the Government that extended Covid payments. It’s that once we left and realized all the stuff we went through we said no way, not going back to that!

Why are sick days to be used as "vacation" days? that's disgusting.
Why are they telling people they don’t need government universal healthcare, making it scary....Convincing them that living to work and devoted to profits is something to be proud of, having no employee rights is great, that anyone who doesn’t do exactly the same thing is a lazy freeloader who is trying to take something away from the entitled people who most were born on 3rd base but thought they hit a triple.
It’s honestly amazing from a historical standpoint that the MSM/corporatists have created rabid defenders of a vile capitalistic system that defecates on propagandized American people nonstop.

Most americans don't understand that there is no longer any (if there ever was LOL) , repeat, any employee loyalty. One day, after ten years of never taking a sick day, or saying no to overtime, you can get laid off. Just like that. No meeting, no bonus, you are just gone, they'll mail you your cat mugs and lame positive mission "life is good" mantras that you glued on your cubicle

Layoff? They can lay us off any time bc America was a ‘Corporatist’ dictatorship where the politicians work hand in hand with corporations to promote corporate profits. That's it. We're just consumerist slaves that are brainwashed into buying things we don't really need and to consume, consume, CONsume via debts

Worked at the health care partner. It was great. The fun, the chanting, the dancing, prancing, silly wigs, boomers, and fun games, and that pizza with soda! Adult day care.

  • "And why is there no longer any diversity at the middle management level? It’s like Mumbai."

Simple ... Because from what I saw at Optum, at least 80% of the Indian managers there have zero moral compass and will do anything they are told by superiors to save their own butts and try to get that promotion: Working their direct reports to death, bullying, and publicly humiliating them. Not to mention blatantly lying and deceiving people and playing cutthroat politics to push their agenda forward - no matter the cost. In sort, the dark tetrad personality of the worst kind of people in power. The prefect robots to keep costs low and helping to control the false perception of reality that Optum/UHG is a solid, profitable business that treats their employees well.

Instead of real pensions like the rest of the world, USers get "401K" nonsense. Fund your own "retirement" with your own money and play fraud street roullette, ride the painted pony on the merrygo around the vile US empire cesspool

Most corporations now offer zero to only 4% match for 401K. Some don’t offer a 401K. It won’t be long before Optum/UHG cuts our 401K too. They can do whatever they want and getting 6% match will be a thing of the past so corporate can report to the stock market how much money they are worth.

We are all invested in it! The stock market. It’s a joke. Fake money it’s not real money. Just a report to keep us dreaming…biggest scam evah!

Most folks with a working brain stem understand the horrors and vile aspects of US capitalism. Pay real wages, real benefits, real employment rights. or enjoy having no US empire workers.

I went to a restaurant last night and there were only 2 wait staff. The restaurant had an entire section closed and couldn’t serve us. If our US economy cannot figure out how to attract workers, what to do?

We are in big trouble because how are we getting all those goods over to us if we have no truckers and people to ship and unload items?!

Companies like Optum have to feel the burn of having no one, who will put up with their SH!t.

Now what UHG and Optum?!
