Thread regarding Refinitiv layoffs

People complain a lot

It’s okay to be dissatisfied and look for something better. However, I have worked in several companies in this industry and I can say that none of them were much better. It all depends on someone's priorities.

Someone will say that it is much better in another company, just because it suits his/ her priorities better. Anywhere you go, you gain some things and you lose others. Maybe that’s why there are a lot of people here who complain but don’t leave? Because they know that nowhere is the grass much greener.

Refinitiv definitely turned into a toxic culture company with no industrial vision. Get the he-l out of there as soon as you can: there is a life that awaits you, with great challenges and great companies.

They have dropped the word "Reuters" from the new company name on purpose.
Julius would be turning in his grave if they didn't.
From flying pigeons to totally immoral and shameful Refinitiv mess, with HR dictating their demotivating terms like they own your soul and to fewer and fewer great folks still here. HR having no bloody clue what they really do and how much they contribute at the same time.
Thomson Reuters was far from perfect, Refinitiv took it to a whole another level very close to hopelessness.
Whoever I talk to, from whichever country, everyone says Refinitiv HR is a snake pit in an urgent need to be totally re-built and from the ground up.
With previous HR boss you could not do anything without risking to be tagged as a intolerant, what is the problem today?
You can't expect any good outcomes while still allowing HR tail wagging the dog at the same time.

This would ring more true if I didn't have a distinct memory of greenish brown grass at a company called Thomson Reuters. Things were far from perfect 5 years ago but I'd take that any day over the current landscape where the grass has been burned, the ashes thanked for their service and dumped into a sewer, and TCS brand paper grass for Easter baskets strewn haphazardly about.

Well said.

Reality is the majority of people are unemployable. Guy on my team has such a bad rap, no one internally will touch him. He’s comfortable but unhappy , but it’s a scary world out there so best stay put, it’s safer.
