Thread regarding IBM layoffs

IBM and Kyndryl have a 2 year moratorium until end of 2024, on hiring between companies

Interesting. . .

Most Kydryl friends I know who are good or somewhat good, have left or will be leaving kyndryl very soon. IBM is bad and kyndryl is worse.

I move from IBM to Kyndryl with 25% increase and onetime 6 x my salary bonus. Kyndryl has new management team and its own business plan so it is quote promising, we will struggle for next 2 years for sure but look IBM as they are going down and down...IBM will be worse after Kyndryl spin-off , trust me. AK wanna invest on cloud but it is too late buddy , there is huge competition and prices go down , it is too late AK, too late IBM.Kyndryl business is simple " Managed Services " but what about IBM ? hare they SW company , a bit cloud , a bit watson , then stupid consulting , useless TSS ? RIP bug blue.

This is real simple. IBM loaded Kendryl with more employees than it needed so “new” IBM does not have to lay them off. The plan is to get rid of many of the Kendryl employees in order to make it “marketplace competitive” to sell.

Seems pretty short-sighted on IBM's part. If they didn't do the spin-out exactly perfectly (exactly correct people on each side of fence) then it means that those who end up on wrong side can't benefit both companies by adjusting?

Kyndryl (GTS) lost $2B in 2020 and so far this year (pre-spinoff) $750M... Why in h-e-l-l would any IBMers join Kyndryl?

Isn't that basically choosing between "h-e-l-l" and "also h-e-l-l?"
