Thread regarding Norfolk Southern Corp. layoffs

Say When …

This has become absurd…. Despite working without a contract for years . Being a essential employee pre pandemic and having to deal with Precision Railroading. Class 1’s receiving Covid relief yet didn’t sharing a dime of that money . Corporate greed , share holders and hedge funds have been destroying America for years . Now people are starting to notice . They have broken contract agreements, are being taken to court over labor issues . Cut roughly 4K trainman just in transportation. Now are forcing engineers to fill those vacancies.

They can’t hire , people are leaving the industry for other employment and don’t forget PSR . Unions well you decide . You will be an engineer one day , conductor the next and on Friday which is you’re Tuesday cleaning toilets before you dead head home . Yet the OR will still be below 60% thanks to all the folks hard work . Maybe you will get a contract well below the COLA . Signing bonus to cover the cost of rising health care . Which when I started cost …In the words of Uncle Joe ..Zero

Yes we are doing so much better with a 50 year politician in office. Closed boarders, clean exit from Afghanistan, no container ships waiting to unload, oil prices low, no inflation, no more COVID. Yep, best it’s ever been!
