Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

It's better elsewhere

You need to leave Xerox and you need to leave it now. After I was laid off, I managed to find a job within two months that came with a 30 percent pay increase. When I think back, I can't believe the abuse I was willing to take because I was too scared to leave. I'm now grateful they made that decision for me.

Please don’t let yourself become a mindless individual that can only focus on the next sale or service call. There is a world of possibilities out there. There are companies that truly appreciate what skills you have and that you show a willingness to come to work and learn. So many people are caught up in the day to day routine at xerox. Only when you leave and see what else is out there, can you really appreciate the fact that leaving was the right thing to do. I don’t regret it for even a fraction of a microsecond. Just consider it.

Plain and Simple English .. Get out any way you can. Things happen for a Reason. You won’t be sorry you left this place. Not exaggerating at All.

… and if you can sleep at night, and if you don’t mind working for a company whose products are completely irrelevant and circling the bowl, there is no reason to leave.

Anyone fooling themselves to staying at Xerox is just that . You are on a hit list of layoff in a bad culture where your skills will atrophy. To everyone else looking to leave good on you.

If you like what you are doing and who you work with and for, and are paid competitively, there is no reason to leave. The grass isn't always greener.

If you are concerned about finding a job if you lost yours tomorrow, then by all means seek something else. I know I could find a job within a week if I had to, but that will vary for everybody.

Good call. Leaving xerox is the best thing you can do for yourself. Money isn’t everything, and you sure aren’t gonna get rich staying here. But your own self worth and happiness will skyrocket. Glad I left too.
