Thread regarding UnitedHealth Group Inc. layoffs

Lots of talk but I don't think a lot of people will quit

People are worried about their health and I wouldn't want to get into discussion whether anyone should take the vaccine or not. Everyone should consult their doctor about this.
I'm just noticing that there is a lot of noise and that many are now saying that they would rather quit than receive the vaccine. I hope this company doesn’t lose a lot of great employees because of it. In fact, I'm almost certain that very few of those who now say they will quit - really quit?

Don’t forget the Vets that are being silenced and threatened with losing their licenses and funding if they speak out about the alternative treatments Ivermectin.

When someone says they are trying to understand why someone would not want to get vaccinated they might want to do some more research beyond the CDC website. There are many medical professionals and scientists who are being silenced and threatened with losing their licenses and funding if they speak out about the alternative treatments such as HCQ or Ivermectin. Why? They keep moving the goal posts on getting the jab - now to be fully vaccinated you will need to get boosters on a regular basis. Why? If someone says that they are firing you, bullying you and berating you to get the jab but it is all in your best interest - wouldn't that make you pause and wonder why? I see no stats on vaccine injuries which are very real as well (see the VAERS website). Why did big pharma make sure they were not liable if someone did get sick or die from the jab? Lastly, why did the have to change the definition of a vaccine so that it would include the jab that is still experimental?

Respectfully, it’s not anybody’s responsibility to understand why someone doesn’t want the vaccine only to understand that it is their Constitutional Right to not be forced to take an experimental medication. Research Nuremberg Act. People have multiple medical, religious and personal reasons for not wanting this. Per the CDC these vaccines neither prevent a person from getting or transmitting Covid so why are so many people trying to force Non Sterilizing and non FDA approved experimental medications onto other people and violate their Constitutional Rights.
This is not about safety so nobody should say or believe that by forcing someone to take a vaccine it actually protects anyone else

Go to cdc website. This isn't even broken out by age. Check out the death rates. Do the math.
The week ending September 4.

Testing positive:

No Vax 666 / 100K population
Fully Vax 114 / 100K population
Moderna 87 / 100K population
Pfizer 126 / 100K population
J&J 150 / 100K population

Deaths:

No Vax 9.14 / 100K population
Fully Vax 0.74 / 100K population
Moderna 0.47 / 100K population
Pfizer 0.88 / 100K population
J&J 1.70 / 100K population

  1. Nobody should be mandated to getting this vaccine
  2. Over 60 probabkt makes sense to get the vaccine assuming you have no prior infection
  3. Under 40 probably doesn't make sense to get the vaccine and especially with no comorbidities at least until all the most at risk people throughout the world have the opportunity to get the vaccine
  4. If you have a prior confirmed, symptomatic COVID infection do not need to get the vaccine
  5. Middle aged group 41-60 do your research and depends on each individual circumstances and risk tolerance. If your obese diabetic.

I can't understand not looking at data. But then again plenty of sheep dont.

I’m doing my best to understand why people are reluctant to get vaccinated but comments like “all risk no gain” are making it very difficult.

Unvaccinated people are more likely to get infected, more likely to require hospitalization, and more likely to die from COVID 19.

UHG is headquartered in MN, this data shows there’s a lot to gain by being vaccinated:
https://apnews.com/article/coronavirus-pandemic-health-minnesota-e20146e2eacd39c3869e2c50df190f5b

When you look at those stats, do you think it won’t impact you or your family? Do you think those stats are made up? Do you think an equal or greater number of people are being harmed/hospitalized/ki---d by the vaccines?

I’m really trying to understand…

The cdc is already going to change the definition of fully vaccinated. End up requiring boosters for the future. You don't think uhg will fall in line? This is all risk no gain for anyone, the more data comes out. Awful.

I won’t quit but I will let them fire me. I’m standing my ground on this because I feel strongly about it. I guess we will see if they accept any exemptions and go from there. It’s not even passed yet but UHG is taking this opportunity to clean house and not pay fines. I hear they do it every 4th Q. This is just another bully strategy from the government because they want the vax into everyone. That’s not necessary to fight this virus. I think they will be surprised how many will hang on until the end to prove a point. This company could care less about their employees.

How can we organize a protest? Can someone create a Facebook group anonymously and spread by word of mouth? It is kind of hard to get something rolling with such a big company ugh

“Go Help” poster, you are a perfect example of the negative and divisive culture that we are seeing in the company right now. Very disappointing!

“Those of us who are unvaccinated will be needed in a big way to provide care.”

You’re needed right now. Hospitals in several states are still over run with unvaccinated patients who have COVID. Please go help those in need!

UHG has been smart on how they are rolling this out by dividing us (the employees) into categories over the past few months and not mandating it for all at the start. By doing it this way it makes it harder for all of the impacted employees to band together and fight it.

I am so sad to see what our jobs at UHC have turned into because of the vaccine mandate. All that talk and training about our United culture is just that when you are not compliant. I feel like the enemy and totally devalued. So sad. I am one that will leave this job I have loved if the mandate requires me to take the shot. I am smart and able to research for myself, and weigh my risks and follow my values. I have already told my boss the same. We need to unite on this and take a stand for our rights, freedoms and health. If half of the predictions about long term effects come to pass, we are in real trouble and those of us unvaccinated will be needed in a big way to provide care. Any ideas how to stand up?

This country was founded on being brave enough to stand up against unjust laws and mandates. Quitting and finding new jobs can be very powerful and so can class action lawsuits! There is still no new OSHA regulation yet to provide cover which means that companies have no government edict to turn to to protect them. Only a press release. Sadly, they were afraid of losing the Medicare and Medicaid business. Follow the money.

I am 110% quitting over the mandate. Have 4 interviews lined up at other corporates that will not be abiding by a mandate that will get challenged in scotus anyways. I know more ppl with vaccine injuries (severe ones too) than ppl who died of covid. I thought vaccine injuries were “rare” insert eye roll emoji.

Southwest is not firing people over the mandate. CEO said turn in your exemptions no one will be fired. American Airlines and Delta are not enforcing the mandate. See what happens when people ban together and say no?! Lol!!! Stand up, call out and say no!!

No they won’t quit. They will probably just wait until the mandate date has passed, sit quietly at their desk and hope nothing happens to them. When they finally receive the notice that they’ve been let go they’ll come to this site and make up some story about how many others joined them as they were walked out of the building while receiving thunderous applause.

It doesn't take that much to cripple departments. Operations is likely most easy to walk. That includes call center, claims, enrollment, provider network etc. Good luck post 012022 if you still work here in those capacities. Others will leave due to the mandatory overtime that will be asked.

Give an up voteis you received an exemption response like this : I was granted temporary religious exemption but per letter “We intend to search for and fill our staffing needs with vaccinated individuals your employment is at will and you may be replaced at any time with or without notice”

The vaccine mandate is unconstitutional, is devastating the middle class and dividing the country. I decided to retire but if you can't do that yet just know that you will land on your feet. There are lots of job openings. Someone will hire you! Have faith in yourself. Stand your ground!

I filled out an exemption. I did hear the TAT will be at least a few wks before you know if it was accepted. Im also riding it out. I am looking at a backup plan. To be honest, the mandate policy really took the drive out of me to produce high results for uhc. I will not comply.
