Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

I am the OP and I thank you. Although I’ve suffered some personal and professional loss, your posts make me feel better. For the longest time I blamed myself and while I take accountability, I know there is something very wrong here and when I look back at my time here, I will definitely have a moment, a laugh, and just be thankful that I survived and left. I have this feeling the folks who run these departments and gbus are sad folks who will retire to a room filled with things and people who never really mattered.

OP, I hope you feel better soon. I too was quite depressed and sad during my time here, likely for many of the same reasons as you've experienced. There's hope and a brighter world out there. Remember: the best revenge is to not be like your enemy.

I’m the OP. HR does nothing. I have countless examples as they all do. I’ve really felt terrible about things here and I’m considering just giving my two weeks with no other offer. I am severely depressed and sad. I am actually about to take my first ever severe depression medication. I really really hate this place and many of the trash that work here. Part of me wants revenge but the good part of me just wants this pain to be over….and move on. I figure moving on and being the complete opposite of these people who have tried to tear me down is the right thing. There is just some real sc-m here. I hope they read these boards and know it.

This is somewhat reminiscent of the comments about HR’s absence on the board.

I have never thought that HR was on this board at all. I really don't think they are. As far as I can tell they do absolutely nothing. Just look at that HR lady in the TG/SMK lawsuit. Here comments are indications that she was afraid to do anything at all. Wouldn't even sit in on a meeting because she might be "liable" for something.... she means she might be expected to actually DO something.

HR is not out here. That would imply some kind of work, being able to use a browser and read. They are not here, I'm sure of it.

The Oracle HR paranoia is laughable, but in a sad way. It is not that I have any respect for Oracle HR, however their primary function is to prevent employee lawsuits. Everyone can sleep well at night knowing that they aren't hanging around this sorry msg board.

Hurd, schmurd. Ellison and Hurd were tennis buddies. It is well documented that Oracle has always been run by a narcissist, who stopped making good decisions long before Hurd showed up. Water under the bridge. Get over it.

This will be my last year at Oracle and I’m excited to reset my career and get away from people that just seemed to always be in the wrong. I know you come across cr---y people every where but I don’t think I was prepared for people who were just so downright fake and constant liars or b-ms. Good luck to all.

They used to force us to do similar things called "success stories". They were a complete joke, spearheaded by a rat woman, who had no technical skills or real work to do.

Mark Hurd was the worst CEO ever and the damage he did to Oracle cost MANY billions.
