HON turns VAX mandate in RIF tactic

Come December and every HON employee will be at the mercy of HR for a policy violation on VAX mandate. People who got the VAX are feeling smug and comfortable, but issue here is that its HR discretion to accept or reject any proof provided. Knowing HON, they will raise an issue on Dec 7th for any employee they don't like. Likewise for religious and medical exemption, totally HR discretion. Can only conclude that HON has used the mandate as another RIF tactic

Funny how South West lost 50 million over the jab, and has now backed out of the mandate.
Stand strong money 💰 talks BS walks.

@5sA I agree, this is a once in a life time opportunity for Honeywell to get rid of the d-mbest individuals of the company.
I am sure the individuals who end up leaving or will be terminated because of this, are not anywhere near top performers. This will be a great thing for Honeywell in the long run.

Regardless of your opinion on the vax, you have to agree that Honeywell must see this mandate as "manna from heaven."

They're always on the warpath for cutting costs, and all of a sudden they have a great opportunity to cut all kinds of people, and right at the last part of the 4th quarter, too. The best part about it is they don't even have to put in much effort, Uncle Joe Biden already did it. They can hand you you're walking papers on 9 Dec, and tell you their hands were tied, and go talk to the White House if you have any problems with it.

@owm+1dinN5sA: Seriously? No Covid wards? Can't find one? Go to any hospital in Phoenix and you'll find a Covid ward. That would include ICU beds and non ICU beds. Covid patients segregated from rest of hospital population for obvious reasons.

DUH !!!! I can't believe how stupid you anti-vaxxers are.

There was some discussion on exemptions yesterday. Basically HON doesn't care what justification you give for religious (or even medical) exemption or how deep your belief is, its all about how much extra effort they need to put in to accommodate the unvaxed. This will very much depend on CDC recommendation in Dec. If cases go down and face masks become optional, no one will be denied an exemption. If they continue to rise, your job will depend on what your boss wants (just like everything at HON)

Meanwhile actual jab RIFs are going beyond Southwest and now hitting American. Chicago police union says that starting this weekend the mandates will have the force down to 50%.

Put the thinking cap on. Think real hard.

Do you believe Honeywell corporate legal would pursue and implement this policy without perfect certainty they know they are on solid legal ground.

Lawyer up is a waste of time and money.
Get jabbed or find another job.

RIFing employees is literally HONs favorite thing to do. I think mad dog jerks it to how many employees he fires every quarter.

I must admit I am disappointed that some of you will probably get vaccinated because of this mandate. I would much rather see you be a future Herman Cain award recipient.

Will Honeywell be responsible if somebody dies from the vaccine?
Extremely low chance but not out of the realm of possibilities.

Also the supposed VP is a clown. Honeywell has massive labor shortage as is. Good luck.

No vax termination. Much cheaper than a RIF or paying out the Company match.
Not hard to figure that one out.
I feel bad for those that are in that position. I'm retired but it seems HON just got meaner and meaner after I retired a few years ago.

Wanna take a guess how many folks are interested to get a job at Hon in mexicali?

At least for Aero. Our site knows because it is moving there.

The post of a supposed VP stating a 1000 people lined up to take your job is BS. Honeywell can’t find people now to fill the roles. He/she is just an fear monger

Just an fyi.

I'm a VP and I have 1,000 people lined up to take your job at 1/2 your current pay.

Get the shot and join the team, else, bubbye.

I'm not kidding...

No RIF, plus raise if 100% vaccinated, which will save HW a lot of money in a long run.

It's my understanding from the Honeywell emails that employees let go due to the vaccine mandate is not a RIF. It's simply a termination of employment "for cause" on Dec. 8 for those that do not comply with the vaccine requirement. Rumor is there will be no severance payments, no unemployment benefits and loss of the Dec. 15 401k match.

Vac mandatory is an easy excuse to RIF or reducing”union”members

Hey, if they do a RIF I hope they ask for volunteers as I'd raise my hand.

I'm concerned that the anti vac folks will impact volunteers though, on their own way they are volunteering.

Maybe they can go to Boeing. Oops, nope..
Raytheon nope etc.

There will be jobs available but maybe not all will meet expectations.

Do the global results of immunizations substantiate your conjecture regarding “covid wards” or are the “covid wards” the product of your conspiracy theories

Loose dogs of war.

I’ll venture a guess the Honeywell legal department understands legal options long before the message was distributed to
Employees.

Good luck. Make sure your resume is up to date and bills are paid.

If so, let the legal games begin! Lawsuits from states will begin this week. I can't offer legal advice but my counsel informed me that most of the 10 page request form is not required per CRA 1964 Title VII legal precedent. Do your own research.
