Thread regarding General Electric Co. layoffs

Did anyone go to the layoff meeting at the hall?

I didn’t go and would not waist my time with that rubbish and lies from the hall. I had better things to attend to. Any hints or vibes from the hall on the layoffs that are coming? And how many? Or just a bunch of I don’t know for answers?

Good idea. Quit or retire. We have plenty of work for the rest of us.

@3gdb+1dhrPe6l. The company will use this as a way to get rid of people, part of the GE playbook. They’ll be looking at VRIP numbers again real soon, there may be more that want to leave now….

Were the 200 management, union, or a mixture? Were they steam, generator, or something else? We need more details if you want us to believe that this is accurate information.

When the t rates are all gone, the d rates will have their boot laces and belts confiscated so that they don't hang themselves on the job and all windows above the ground level will have their openings restricted to prevent them from jumping to their deaths. D rates aren't going anywhere!

They don't enforce the old rules, so who cares about "new" rules. You just have to play their game.

I think they're hoping people quit before they have to layoff, that way they don't look like the bad guy. Morale on the floor is going to be the best its ever been next week when they implement the new rules. Which is part of the plan I'm sure. Good luck to everyone!

Yeah, they said all T rates will be on the street by Q1 2022, and no VRIP's.
