@2eyb+1dgxEWfB Let me repeat slowly, so you can all understand it. Since 2020, ALL liquidations were/are/will be, handled by SB360. Astor Place, Massapequa, & Bronx were NOT liquidations. They just closed and transferred the sh!t elsewhere. Any and all LIQUIDATIONS were, are, and will be, handled by SB 360, as per their contract with Sears.
And these, so-called, "non-liquidation" closings, are anomalies, or exceptions to the rule. They only work, in the rare case, where there's a nearby store to transfer the merchandise. For example, when Astor Place NY Kmart, closed, this Summer, there were still two Bronx Kmarts nearby where they could transfer all their sh!t. When Bronx 1 Kmart, recently closed, there was Bronx 2, only four miles away, where they could transfer stuff. And when Massapequa closed, they transferred the stuff to the nearby, liquidating, Brooklyn Sears so they could just liquidate all their sh1t, there.
Look at the map. How many Kmarts or Sears have nearby stores to transfer stuff anymore? Very few. The only closely located stores, are in USVI, the Sears/Kmart in PR (which share a parking lot, although they are different brands), and maybe Avenel/West Wood, but even they are over 40 miles apart. Bronx and Bridgehampton are almost 100 miles apart!
So, I don't think you'll be seeing much, if any, of this non-liquidation, closing stuff going forward. Well, one exception I thought of, is perhaps if they close either Avenel Kmart, or Jersey City Sears, those are 20 miles apart, so that MIGHT work, to transfer stuff, but they are different brands, and both brands don't sell exactly the same merchandise, so they probably wouldn't go that route.
But anyway, if a store does go that route, there will be a job listing, for "fixture removal", or some such, so that would be our verification of the closing, as in Massapequa, Bronx, & Astor Place. In all other cases, of course, the easiest proof is SB360's site. If it's liquidating, it'll be on there.
