Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Allstate SIU a department in decline

I work or recently worked in it, does'nt matter. This department has never once been mentioned by the TG team, instead talk of "fraud analytics" and other nonsense.
We have something called an "MRR" which my peers know is complete BS so much that they wont share how its calculated, which has frozen all wages for the people who contribute the most in savings for years now in SIU. Allstate decided to no longer belong to the single SIU Association "IASIU" beginning this year, nor pay for any training, but then tells us we need to do 30 hours of cont ed FOR FREE starting this year! Something Ive never experienced or even heard of in the industry. Its worse and my co-workers know the details. Workload has/had more than doubled in my area, morale is terrible, turnover to get heck out, do free training, do volunteer work, give my money in Allstates name, and now well known in SIU industry what a $hit show this department and company have become back to the RIF.

Two classes of SIU employees: a bunch of experience people close to retirement riding out this BS and those looking for jobs. And brand new hires.

Yes there are some brand new employees with years ahead of you I would look elsewhere honestly. Becky Able the VP was "offered" (theirs a euphemism) a buyout and took it, so Glen and his TG cronies can reap their profits again. Glad I left/cant wait to leave. Then they will hire band 2 employees with no claims or SIU experience at all, as long as they can pay a barely livable wage. The department does not have a future trust me on this, writing is on the wall.

@4wto+1deGf7Nq I just heard about this from coworker. Wow. In west, now zone 1 SIU state. New York and Michigan and New Jersey you do not represent rest of country. I agree I see not belonging to IASIU is pretty unprecedented and morale is not good in my state/region either. TG is bad all around and will get worse we think. It's good you're busy in New York but dont think the "Transformative Growth" team is that foward thinking about SIU, you give them too much credit. Outsourcing has been rumor around H.O. from few years now.

I love the the Reputation Mitigation company TG hired or rather from idiocy of response its just tasked HR id--ts who post on every thread also attacking some minor syntax error like the Interwebz is a Thesis. Its called an "Ad Hominem" attack and its reserved for people who can't refute the argument btw. I didn't know BA was a "director" they change the titles here with seasons, and as lifer I will say they have spanned the ridiculous.

I hope for better but afraid dark days ahead still in SIU.

I am an SIU attorney working in NY and the SIU claim reps we work with are all very knowledgeable and very eager to pursue fraud. The SIU attorney team I am attached to is the busiest team in our NY complex and continues to grow in work volume. We could use more staff but in this environment of “Transformative Growth,” I’m happy to have this job. I do not see SIU being outsourced for either claims or legal. Fighting fraud is an industry wide goal and saves the company a tremendous amount of money v. Any associated expense.

SIU has struggled to add value to the bigger claims picture for years. Also, SIU crusader, Becky Abel wasn’t a VP, she was a Director. If you’re going to jump on a soap box, try to use some semblance of fact. Words words words, Allstate is mean! Come on…..

If the spelling, grammar and punctuation are any indication, that is why the poster is still at the company. Wow. I think there may be a valid point there but it is lost in the incoherent ramblings.

What a crock. Why don’t you do yourself and the SIU department a favor and muster up the courage to leave? Somewhere that will appreciate your positive attitude. Why would you stay if all of this is true? The people I know in SIU like their jobs.

I can say @uyb+1deGf7Nq there has been discussion of outsourcing all of SIU its matter time as part of TG. Its another cost that they figure adds to price of insurance. Its not matter if but when and like the OP said the higher ups are old guard close to retirement and dont care about future so look out for yourself first and start planning an exit plan.

It is actually funny to see this post as I work occasionally with SIU and I was just thinking yesterday that over the past several months most of the time I am dealing with someone in India. It is no surprise to anyone to hear this considering SIU having work done in India has been known for a while now.
