Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

Great resignation under way

Ok, wow….its a job seekers paradise. Every week for the past two months, I hear of someone I know leaving Citi. Some give two weeks notice, some not. It’s nuts. I’ve read about the “Great Resignation” and it seems to be in full swing across the board.

Some great points. As a long timer Citi, even I am not fanatical about the place, so I certainly hope the younger folks aren't either. It's hard to be a cheerleader for this place.

Alas, I put in my two weeks. I am not down with the "new world" of vax and surveillance nonsense, so we are just going to make do on my husbands income. I want to have a chance to educate my kids too, instead of what i see happening in schools.

Many people have had a chance to re-examine their lives and priorities, and honestly, that's perfectly fine and a great time to adjust accordingly.

Citi will go on without me and others and I suspect their employees in the future are just a more compliant bunch. Also true for most of corporate America.

That's ok, but not for me.

The tide is turning against dysfunctional companies who believe that anyone who isn’t a fanatical devotee to the cult of work is a bad employee.

I think we should stop referring to this period in time as “the great resignation.” I think it misses the heart of what’s really happening.

I believe we are living through the transition in America from “work comes first” to “life comes first” and I believe the companies who truly understand this will win the decade.

Does the experience of working for your company genuinely enrich the lives of your employees? If it does not, you might be shouting “the great resignation!” right about now.—a quote

Not listing people, places or groups….It’s either a stretch of the truth to stir things up or fear that it’ll narrow down who may be posting. If a small team in NY for example. I can see it both ways to be honest. I too know a few people who has left but am afraid to list the group or site for such reasons. I’m sure some post may be a mix of both.

I find it funny that these posts never mention the group or city. Its weird as l many folks were hired this year...

I find it funny to some extent. Often times I’ve heard from managers say in meetings “if you don’t like it then go work some where else”, now the response is “here’s my two week notice”.
