What are your thoughts on the extensive use of the term “Global Family” in NOV?
Personally, I strongly disagree with it and never hear anyone outside “leadership” and marketing use it.
This is an interesting article I found in Forbes and I found myself agreeing with it throughout.

When you think about it from a basic level, family don’t lay off children or parents when things get financially tough. Also, aside perhaps from the near 20 presidents and no doubt 100+ VP’s in the company, none of the workforce would class NOV as a family.
Ultimately we are a team, the main difference being that if any other team (like football) had a horrendous track record like NOV have, the leadership would have been changed out by now. After all, you can’t fix the high points of a building by taking out the foundations and floors continually.
