How many people are going to bow down and vaccinate? I personally telecommute and find it ridiculous that UHC isn’t requiring telecommuters to vaccinate, but their red headed step child Optum is. They can have my job, I’m not doing it.

If you choose not to get vaccinated, at least have the decency to put on masks when you interact with people in public. Otherwise consider yourself an intentional spreader who is potentially ki----g people who are not able to fight it. May I add, that person would be yourself. When that time comes, in the name of Freedom of choice, have the decency to not to use costly and precious ICU medical resources.

My 65 year old vaccinated neighbor got COVID last week and he was panting while laying in bed. Fully recovered this week. I’m certain he’d be in the ICU or dead without the vaccine.

And NO Sweden and Japan did not "call the whole thing off already". Where do you get your info? Sweden's over age 50 population is 95% vaccinated. Norway has vaccinated almost 73% of it's entire population with over 7.8 MILLION doses given. I guess it's easier to regurgitate trash then to figure cr-p out for yourself.

Before you quit…..you might want to check out your employment options. Most healthcare companies are requiring vaccines for new employees and many employers in other sectors are too.
UHG is NOT accepting any exemptions. One of my teammates put in a religious exemption being a minister and was denied. My medical exemption was denied after I went got the second opinion UHG demandd. UHG then told me to pick one of three additional doctors to get a "third" opinion.
Really? Think that medical facts will change if I keep asking additional docotors?
I went to the "UHG" doctor and have three opinions, all agree, any of the vaccines will be deadly to me.
Fu-k them, I'm not quitting. They will have to fire me and I will sue. You can't do this to people and not accept medical exemptions from THREE DOCOTES, ONE OF THEM UHG'S DOCOTOR!

So, let's be clear, Optum is NOT mandating that their telecommuters be vaccinated. They have asked all employees to fill out an HR survey indicating their status. Nurses with multiple state licensures are still obligated to maintain that licensure (as the company pays for it and it's needed for their role). IF, IF, one of the states that they are licensed in requires vaccination or exemption submission, then the nurse must comply as losing that license will impact their ability to perform the role they are in.

Religious exemption rights exists and they are constitutional rights that supersede any so called mandate.
Jacobson vs Massachusetts said that the Feds don’t control vaccine mandates that the states do. An attorney in Florida used this to win against Gainesville to remove their vaccine and mask mandates. Check out coffee and Covid

Optumcare is the clinical division of UHG. They employ thousands of Nurse Practitioners Nurses Medical Assistants Physicians Pharmacists to name a few healthcare workers. OSHA requires all HCW providing face to face care get vaccinated. Exemptions for Religius or Health matters MAY be considered and alternate positions MAY be offered IF available. The process is similar to special accomadations for ADA. Basically its get a jab or loose your job. Not sure if they terminate, furlough, lay off. Those that don't comply won't be employable in their profession unless a cash only business. Hope people post their experience if they dont comply.
Optum telecommuters do not have to vaccinate if they never have contact with other employees or clients or have to go into the office.
It's all a crock of shi#. They really don't care if you are vaccinated or not. They just want to jump through the minimum amount of hoops so they appease the government. All of the employees are replaceable.

The ceo of Pfizer didn't get it nor is he requiring his employees to get it! Congress doesn't have to get it nor do Judges, the NBA and many many other elites. i don't understand how there can be a religious exemption for this since most of the leaders of the main religions are pro-vaccine. the major religions' holy books are too old to address vaccines... i mean without people skewing the meaning of passages to fit whatever they want. also, where is this fake news coming from now for these anti-vaxxers? trump's been vaccinated, fox news has their employees vaccinated, where's the conspiracy news being gathered from today?
I thought the webcast did a good job at presenting the data and reasons why employees are being required to vaccinate. Don't you read the news? This isn't the first employer requiring this - especially in healthcare. You're special and shouldn't have to vax while everyone else should so they don't catch it from you? Gees! entitled much?

OptumServe has Fed contracts so the employees are considered Fed contractors (not sure if it impacts all of OptumServe). So fulltime telecommuters that never travel or interact face-to-face must be mandated because that's the dictators orders
Apparently it's OptumServe, some of their staff provide direct patient care.
It seems like only some of Optum is requiring for telecommuters. But I cannot figure out the rhyme or reason to it. If anyone has any insight….
As an Optum employee, I haven't seen any correspondence about this requirement. Has this been disclosed to the affected Optum employees?
I was just moved to Optum hadn’t heard about this telecommuter requirement however now the vaccination question has been include in some requisitions. So I need to apply for UHC positions thanks for the heads up.
