Thread regarding Schlumberger Ltd. layoffs

Is Schlumberger trying to keep anyone?

I recently left SLB. They magically had a 10% increase as an offer for me to stay. I had a good laugh

Is it possible that this happened? Is this a joke? I can’t believe they’re trying to keep anyone. My colleague was the kind of employee many companies would want as an employee and we still feel his absence even today. Still, they didn't try to keep him at all.

I recently left SLB and when I informed them all of a sudden they were ready to discuss incentives to make me stay. I told them that my decision was made so I never got to know the details …

They offered me 10% too. It was too late and I do not trust them. There was no official letter presented with the pay raise. It’s all talk. And once you tell them that your décision is definitive, they use soft pressure techniques to make you doubt. They want you to think that it won’t be better elsewhere.... Do not give them more than 2 weeks notice. Remember they would not give you any notice if you get laid off. They don’t care about employees

They definitely offered me 10% increase to stay, but believe what you want. Makes no difference to me.

FMPC has lost a lot of good employees over the past few months. Little to no effort to retain them. No wage increase in years and then they come up with 3%. Doesn’t come close to covering inflation. Current management team at FMPC has run this place right into the ground.

total BS.
SLB are not the type of company to offer anything to anyone as a incentive to stay, just look at the recent exodus from SDTS. Good, well established people gone with many more planning there exit without any form of financial offer.
A company that automatically eliminates 50% of employees from the first performance salary increase in 4-5 years, A company that would rather make people redundant instead of taking advantage of a long lasting government furlough scheme? but thay will offer you 10% more to stay?
wake up.

I miss my colleague too. He might be the same you mentioned, he was working at the Sugar land campus. It is really scary to see this company letting such good workers leave. He was always willing to help anyone.
