The rumor is that AK is already looking for a Chalet in Davos... one bigger than Ginni!

He will certainly hang on as long as it can to ensure he becomes richer than Ginni!

AK most likely has at least 2 years left, and possibly as much as 4. The abandoning of GTS will be viewed by the board as good news and a positive first step. IBM now has 230-240k head count on 54 billion To be profitable, service the debt, and to invest in the hybrid business IBM will have to slim down to 160-180k. That doesn’t mean layoffs, but it does mean divesting. IBM has already said consulting has 140k head count So that means SW and infrastructure has 100k. So who are the weak sisters, and who are the strategic imperatives. AK has already said AI and SW are strategic. Sorry Infrastructure but that mens you are the weak sister

Probably has 2-3 years left. Sadly the next CEO will preside over the breakup and sale of IBM. Almost inevitable now.

He will have to step down in time. I don't think he has past the end of 2022 to show some significant result improvements, now that he pretty much completed its major re-org. Well, there is still some layoffs planned for Q1 2022.
