BARNES & NOBLE EMPLOYEES WAITING FOR OUT OF BUSINESS ANNOUNCEMENT SOON

With sales at all time lows and employees abandoning like rats from a sinking ship, those who are left are awaiting news from Daunt when the whole company closes its doors permanently. Many are guessing by Spring.

This week's news.
Although Barnes & Noble did not respond to a request for comment, the company announced on social media earlier this month that it would be closing the Flagstaff location on Jan. 23 after its lease was not renewed. Goodwill will be opening in its place.

Our store did horribly for Black Friday and I talked to friends at other stores and everyone is disappointed. I don't see how much longer we'll be around. I'm looking for a better, more stable company and if you're smart, you will too!

Our store manager threatened us again not to go on social media so that's why I am here. They don't want anyone to know how badly the company is doing so that's why any little thing that is negative on Facebook will get deleted.

They've been restructuring since 2008 and getting worse every year since.

There is no way B&N will ever sell at a profit. I see the slips all day long and store managers talk to each other. Sales are a fraction of what they were before Covid.

And why do you think all of the managers are quitting? The only ones who are staying are the managers who won't be able to get decent jobs elsewhere. I even know store managers from other retail stores who have said they won't hire our SM for obvious reasons.

But does it have years?

Closing stores is part of the company’s restructuring plan. Less stores, smaller stores which are more profitable at lower sales. The company is not going out of business.

Elliot is a private equity company that will turn B&N into a more profitable business then sell it off at a profit. This process will take years.
