Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

This is one lucky company

I mean, since the market has never been as hot as it is now, or at least I don't think it is, I think our leadership can only be happy that more people are not leaving the company.
There are many who could excel in other companies but are still here.
Still, maybe they should finally make an effort to keep the best people, because their good fortune might not last long !?

Yep if you are analyst in this division you get x if you are associate you get y and so on and so. The goal is to move up so you may be an analyst at CITi as you are not standing out from peers but on paper you look great to another bank so they give you associate job and that's how you get big raise and bonus. On average these banks employee 200k people so they cant give raises to every bloke that threatens to quit as everyone would do it to get raise. This circle makes sense

I don't know of any bank that retains talent. You are at a certain pay grade and that's it. Take it or leave it amiga. Glad you are getting new gig though as you complained ot over ping

Agreed. Well protected. There is no incentive to retain talent.

0% interest, combined with FRB paying banks' interest on reserves held at FRB...

Combined with Reverse Repos to soak of cash printed by UST/FRB, that pay bps to banks...

Citi and its ilk really don't need to concern themselves with too much. Washington DC is making sure Citi is well fed, with little to no work

I’d be more proud if C realized the true worth of their people and at least met the industry standard for adequate pay for the skills being offered. You know, versus letting them leave for more money elsewhere.

I know several really good heavy hitters who left due to have not been given comparable raises or bonus’s. They left for 10K-30K more. Upon the ask of what was the salary they wanted, the hiring companies never even blinked. Just a “sounds fair to me” followed by an offer.
