Ford Motor Company is recalling select 2021 Ford Explorer and 2021 Lincoln Aviator models due to an issue with the rear suspension module.
The defect: in affected vehicles, incorrect rear suspension module components may have been installed due to a labeling error.
The hazards: in affected vehicles, a rear suspension module with incorrect components may affect the vehicle’s handling, ride height, and braking characteristics, increasing the risk of a crash.
Ford is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this issue.
Components: rear suspension module.
Affected vehicles: select 2021 Ford Explorer models produced at the Ford Chicago Assembly Plant between August 3rd-11th and select 2021 Lincoln Aviator models produced at the Chicago Assembly Plant from August 3rd-5th.
