Utility Carman

Im so glad that I was a sheep and sighned on to be a Utility Carman. I get a whopping 3 dollars extra on my pay. When they asked for volunteers, there were plenty of sheep just like me to volunteer. None of us has any ba--s.,but we dont care as long as management is happy.

The biggest problem is when we do the utility carman thing, we have to walk the train numerous times. It sucks doing this because when we are not being watched,we just walk the consist once, and call it a day.

Well to help make laughing boy understand, I was told that they were trying to get that in the contract before they started cutting. It’s probably the only way Carmen keep from getting cut off in favor of contractors.

why are the carmen scabs? nobody seems to have a problem with train crews inspecting cars at outlying points after they laid off all of the carmen.

It's paid at 50 cents an hour, only while working in a utility status. Total rip off. The most time I've ever attached to a crew was usually 30 min.

3 bucks an hour? Where did that come from or are we being short changed on our pay

Contract. Hahahaha. Contract? OMG, did you seriously just say contract? Union contracts on the railroad are made for one thing. To be broken by the railroad.

I thought that had to be written into the contract first.
