Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Train station

So now the train station that we’ve invested BILLIONS in will be an “art installation.” Not office space for Ford innovators? Good thing the value Rivian employees created for their company will save our financial statements.

Bill isn’t even in the same orchard, barely in the same genus.

Clearly the apple fell very far from the tree. Bill isn't close to the original. Inheritance money usually isn't.

I'm good with him wasting money. I know people working on the station. Keep them working. Don't care what their future outlook is, other than to keep the employees working.

The Packard plant. Maybe Bill can lease it to FEMA as a re-education site or leper colony. He will already have a list of non conformists handy , complete with all their personal information.

If he can swing another few billion in federal contracts in exchange he will even let them use the boxcars at the Rouge for transportation.

Anyone have some other good landmarks to propose to Bill that we refurbish and spend all our cost save dollars on? Sure we'll loose money but the public will benefit.

It’s embarrassing watching the bumbling narcissistic “leadership”.
People just want a competent “leadership” team with a real plan they can get behind and execute. At least with work from home you are somewhat isolated from the walking diapers and the BS spray.

Gosh Wish we could clone Mulally.

And yet that’s what they are planning to happen with the new fantasmagoric Center they are building. Lots of nice comfy chairs to recline in as they look at the trees while sipping on a free latte made from fresh ground gourmet coffee.

I won’t be surprised if they add free child care on site since they are making one for the “ adults”.

To think any leading edge talent would want to move to the armpit of Michigan just to work in a building just gas to be the epitome of stupidity.

Some other company needs to buy up Ford , sack everyone, and start over. Bill can spend the rest of his days at the Ford Foundation where he really belongs.

Going to have to do some pretty deep head cutting to cover this bad bad monetary decision by the executive leadership and the family.

Thank God that covid mandates will make this easy for them to accommodate this epic waste of corporate funds. You'd think it would've made more sense to use that money to fix the vehicle quality. But that's just me.

I would speculate the train station was proposed by a senior VP, probably Farley, to appease the Ford family.

It was absurd to expect high-tech people to drive to downtown Detroit in the middle of a snow storm to begin with. That forced a lot of early retirements in 2018, myself included, even with good performance reviews to pay for this. Once you have your 30 years in, get out. And a few years later, they cut your medical. Good luck Ford. Myself and everyone I have contact with knows what you did and will no longer buy your products.

What is it now a safe center? Where the crayon drawings get hung up when the tender and soft generation go to color and express their feelings?

Well the train station went from Tech center / Apartments / Now an Art Gallery.. Sounds like a press story to cover up for a Miss use of company funds. This is a prime example why the family needs to step down. Where is the accountability for this action? Those are company funds not Bills personal money. Sorry but they need to go.
